"My heart's desire is to be a messenger of God's word, whether it's in written or spoken form."

Chris Baxter

Chris Baxter is a wife, mother, grandmother, writer, teacher, and speaker. She lives with her husband Mac in Brentwood, Tennessee. Together,  they are enjoying their season of the empty-nesting years.

In her high school and college years, Chris was a world-ranked competitive swimmer. She participated in both the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Trials, and was a member of three consecutive national championships teams at the University of Texas. The lessons she learned about daily perseverance within her sport have shaped her strong commitment to her marriage, her mothering, and her ministry.

Chris grew up in a Christian home, and believed in Jesus as her Savior at an early age; however, her faith truly blossomed as a young adult when real life struggles hit in various ways. At this time of deep soul-searching and crying out, the truth and promises found in God’s word became her lifeline. Now, her heart’s desire it to be a messenger of God’s word, whether it’s in written or spoken form. Some of Chris’ writings include: The Heartbeat of God, Twenty-five Years Twenty-five Lessons in Marriage, A Mother’s Privilege, and Awesome Biblical Concepts. These books and devotionals can be found on this website for either purchase or for free reading. Chris is also a co-leader, curriculum director, and post writer for Soul Sisters Ministries; see soulsistersministry.com.

Chris’ other interests include: reading a good book, watching a great TV series with her husband, traveling anywhere, and taking long prayer walks.
