Respite For the Weary
O afflicted one, storm-tossed, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and your foundations I will lay in sapphires. Moreover, I will make your battlements of rubies, and your gates of crystal, and your entire wall of precious stones. And your sons will be taught of the Lord; and the well-being of your sons will be great.
Isaiah 54: 11-13
O God of Peace,
Please come in and steady the hearts of my children when they are weary, confused, sad, or lonely. Rebuild their faith in You, I pray. Make them beautifully strong once again, causing them to shine Your radiance into this dark world. Help them to remember nothing is impossible with You, O God.
For God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, and love, and discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
Dear Lord,
So often fear stops us in our tracks. Remind us that your Holy Spirit lives within us. This truth enables us to have power greater than our own, love that pushes us forward, and discipline to do your will to completion. Please Lord, help us to hear your call and obey your voice today. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
