Respite For the Weary
Who is a God like You, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; You will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
Micah 7: 18-19
O God,
There is none like You! Thank You for Your compassion; thank You for Your grace; thank You for delighting in MERCY! Please Lord, convince my children that their sins have been demolished under your strong foot and hurled far from them by Your holy hand. May they wear no shame. Cover them, I pray.
Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, "He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us?" James 4:5
Dear Lord,
You are perfectly jealous! You desire to occupy our whole heart with your pure love. Help us to rid ourselves of the things that pull us away from you. Give us an undivided heart, one that yearns for you the way you yearn for us. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
