A Passage and A Prayer... Psalm 42:1-2,5

By Chris Baxter

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? …Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.

Psalm 42: 1-2, 5

Dear Abundant One,
When my children's souls become thirsty, I pray they will run to You. Cause them to take a long refreshing drink from Your living water, O God, so that they can withstand any doubt caused by disturbing circumstances in their personal lives. Make them realize You are their only hope. Fill them, so they can then pour out praise to Your name.

One Who Rescues

This poor man cried and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and rescues them. Psalm 34:6-7

Dear Lord,

Thank you for hearing our cries, no matter the time or place. We ask you to protect us from our enemies and rescue us from ourselves.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.
